A fine first edition in a very good jacket. First edition stated on the copyright page. This copy is also inscribed by Dr. Seuss. First issue dust jacket with bird on the front panel. $1.50 price still on front flap. The image of the bird was removed from the jacket for all later printings. Housed in a custom-made collector's slipcase. Small piece missing from lower spine of dust jacket. One of the author's scarcest and most important books, very rare in first issue dust jacket. Dust jacket has some tape on spine inside and some soiling to inside dj. Soiling to rear paste-down.
