First UK edition, first edition in English. Previously owned by E. R. Thompson, a journalist who in the 1920s write an article on 'Imagery in Dreams', heavily referencing Freud, and a popular psychologist/self help book 'The Human Machine Secrets of Success'. This book is heavily marked up and annotated in pencil throughout, with an additional loosely inserted page of notes. Book very good condition, cloth is bumped, rubbed, marked and frayed with loss to the top edge of the front board, some foxing to front pages. With tipped-in publisher's note stating that "The Sale of this book is limited to Members of the Medical, Scholastic, Legal, and Clerical professions."
